I like to purchase ones with a timer so you can just set it once and then have them come on for a few hours every night without having to remember to turn them on and off. Who says lights just have to be for Christmas? Add some battery powered lights to your fall displays for some added warmth and coziness. It creates a cohesive look with those fall pops of orange! The only thing this scene needs to turn it into an autumn display is a faux pumpkin to place in the middle of the metal table and some colorful fall plants to replace the green ones in the urns. I used some orange berry twigs that I cut apart with wire cutters and layered them throughout the room in the centerpiece, hutch, and a couple of other small vignettes. Terracotta pots have a natural orange color that lends itself to a fall theme decoration scene. While I am usually drawn more to neutral tones, it’s hard to stay away from all of those beautiful fall colors! It doesn’t take much to really make an impact. I added my u-pick apple printable to a canvas from the dollar store and quickly framed it with some 1x2s, but you can do a hot chocolate bar or coffee bar with some seasonal flavors such as pumpkin spice or cinnamon.Īdd some color to tie the space together. All you need to do is choose what you like, print it out, and display. There are so many beautiful prints available these days and you can find many free printables online. Add a few berry sprigs or fresh leaves and you’ll have a beautiful display! Take a maximalist approach and elevate your front door with leaves, wheat stalks and a trio of pumpkins that read 'Boo. Finally, before I bore you all to death: I grew up in Scotland in the 1970’s. We don’t tend to decorate with pumpkins here in the U.K.: there might be a kiddies-carved one on our doorsteps but I love that there are so many different shapes and colours available nowadays. there are no such associations with chrysanthemums and they’re about the only plant in flower during late autumn which makes them all the more welcome. You must never give a pot of ‘mums to your European friends! Here in U.K. They are never placed on the doorstep, in the garden or even found in a bouquet. I love that each country has its own traditions vis a vis decorating with flowers etc: in many European countries especially France, Italy, Spain, Poland, pots of chrysanthemums are a symbol of mourning and are only ever used for placing on graves, especially at this time of year.
